Tooth Extraction

The Pain-Free Solution To Problem Teeth

A dental extraction is the removal of a tooth from the mouth, and is only done if required.

Extractions are performed for a wide variety of reasons, including:

  • null
Tooth decay that has destroyed enough tooth structure to render the tooth non-restorable
  • null
Extractions of impacted or problematic wisdom teeth are routinely performed, as are extractions of some permanent teeth to make space for orthodontic treatment
  • null
Severe gum disease which may affect the supporting tissues and bone structures of the teeth
  • null
Teeth which cannot be restored via endodontic treatment
  • null
    Fractured teeth
  • null
    Supernumerary, supplementary or malformed teeth

Wisdom Teeth Extraction

Wisdom teeth are the third molars and the last teeth to develop in your mouth, usually between the age of 17 and 24.

The main problem with these molars is they can affect surrounding teeth or grow sideways because the jaws of modern day humans are not large enough.

Wisdom teeth may need to be removed if:

  • null
    They are impacting surrounding teeth.
  • null
You have an infection, which can occur if the gum tissue around the crown of the wisdom tooth becomes irritated, inflamed and infected resulting in pain, swelling and stiffness of the jaws
  • null
They are damaged: Difficult cleaning the wisdom teeth may be harmful to the tooth in front, resulting in bone loss, gum disease or cavities which can cause a severe toothache
